Get Out of Your Hole!

Well, it's New Years Eve and I am sick as a dog once again. I wonder where that saying comes from,..
I was just sitting here thinking about life I guess.
I think everyone has a dry period... you know, a period in time where things are rough more times than they are not.
Lord knows I've had my share of dry periods.
During these times, it can be hard to see the good. We get stuck in our own grief, and that is okay...just as long as you climb out of the holes life often throws you in, not just give up.
This year my platelets and hemoglobin have been all over the place. I have been sick more than I have been healthy and my insurance has been cut off not once, but twice.
Yes, things have been crazy, but that's life. Bad things happen, but so do good things. I am so thankful for all the good things and people in my life. That is what truly matters. That is how you climb out of your hole...by making the good things count for more than the bad.

I have this friend, she was in a mentally abusive relationship. They are no longer together. She has been seeing a therapist to help her. After her diagnosis of depression, she refused to look at anything  in a positive light. I tried talking to her about remaining positive, things will get better...she just got angry with me and went on to grieving her loses instead of counting her wins. She has family, friends, mended the relationship with her sister, a nice house, pets, etc. Still, none of this matters to her. For this, I feel sorry for her.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, this year count your blessings. Think about the good things more than you think about the bad. And God Bless!
Happy New Years everyone!

Easy Pasta Salad Recipe

It's been quite some time since I blogged a recipe on here.
This one is so simple and delicious.

Ingredients:
Half a Box of Pasta (Any kind you prefer)
Italian Dressing
Tomatoes
Cucumber
Salt
Pepper
Parmesan Cheese

Optional:
Olives (Black or Green)
Broccoli
I didn't have these.

Boil pasta until tender.
Drain and cool.
Slice cucumbers and tomatoes.
Add vegetables and stir in about a half of cup of Italian dressing.
Stir Salt, Pepper, and Parmesan Cheese. I eyeball it.
Sprinkle Parmesan Cheese on top.

Christmas Shopping, Washington DC, Black Tea, and More!

So October is over and my second favorite Holiday is approaching.
It's weird how the months play out for me.
My third favorite Holiday is Halloween, second is Thanksgiving, and my absolute favorite is Christmas!
Now that it's November, naturally I will be doing all things Christmas!
I started Christmas shopping in October...yes, October!
My sister is done, my boyfriend's sister is almost done, and I got one of my boyfriend's gifts and will be getting another one very soon.
My mommy's birthday is on the 16th! I got her a tree ornament of a black lab.
We had a black lab when I was a kid named Annie. She was such an amazing dog.
My mom is also obsessed with Christmas.

My boyfriend and I went to Washington DC for our one year anniversary. It was nice.
While we were there, we went to the coolest diner! It was 60s themed and I adored it!
The bed in the Hotel was like Heaven! I miss it so much.
It was a complete disappointment to come home to y significantly less comfortable bed!
:(

I tried an English Black Tea. I actually really really liked it and I typically hate tea.
It was suppose to wake you up, but it didn't do much in that aspect.
I'm probably going to try some more teas. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Wellllllllll....I guess I am going to go now.
Until next time!

xoxo,
 Christine

I missed you guys! <3
As I blog, I lay cozy under my blankets watching the new Ghost Hunters and beating my bf in a game of Words With Friends because I'm awesome like that.
I guess I should update you guys on what's been going on.

Tonight will wrap up my HAUNTober series.
It's a little sad, but never fear! I have a winter series coming up.
I'm calling it Beauties in Toyland.
I am oh so excited!
Guys, I totally just jinxed myself. My bf is now beating me...this cannot be! :(
I carved a pumpkin! My first pumpkin! Want to see?
Not too bad, right?
I want to make pumpkin pie by scratch. If I do, I'll blog about it.

This is random...well, this whole blog has been random but, Idk what is going with Youtube.
We're not getting along right now.
It will take about 30 minutes to upload a 4 minute video. Plus, Youtube completely messed up my Zombie makeup tutorial.
My voice is gone! There's music, but for only so long! It was very depressing! :'(
On the topic of Zombie makeup, what are you going to be for Halloween? Let me know.
Until next time...
